Ella Bache was created by Madame Bache in Paris in 1936. Madame Bache was a revolutionary cosmetic chemist. Whilst her competitors created products and then simplistically categorized women according to how they fitted with the product - dry, oily and normal skin, Madame Bache reversed the process and started with the skin Madame Bache was one of the first to include ingredients such as tomato extract, vitamin C, nutrient-rich algae and lanolin in her products. Each Ella Bache product was lovingly and time stakingly created and prized - they were "her children".
